So, what’s in store for you when you join with Encountered couples, priests and religious from all over the world this summer in sunny Southern California? Lots of wonderful, inspiring presentations, fun time and special celebrations of the 40th anniversary. Some couples are even celebrating wedding anniversaries during convention! One special couple is celebrating their 40th anniversary on the Sunday of convention--follow this link for all of our wonderful anniversaries! Here’s just a brief outline of what you can expect:
Friday, June 27
8:00 am – 5:30 pm Priest Day
A day-long experience for priests and those couples who serve with them as an Ecclesial Team. Presentations, dialogues and sharings, ending with Mass at 4:30 pm. Lunch is included. Be sure to register on the form you can download by clicking on the Priest Day link. (Note: You must register separately for Priest Day. Priest Day registration is not included with Convention Registration.)
4:00 pm – 7:30 pm Convention Registration and Check-in
You may continue to check-in during the evening and on Saturday morning. Please note that we highly recommend against registering on-site. Not only will you be paying the highest registration price, but we will not be able to guarantee you will receive meals or materials we hand out that are related to the convention. Also, note that there will be no on-site registration for children. Vendors will also be open during this time, so be sure to pick up your shirts, WWME merchandise, and other gifts.
7:30 pm – 9:30 pm Opening, Welcome, and Prayer Service
Be sure to arrive on time so you can experience the exciting and inspirational opening ceremonies, words of welcome, and a prayer service to end the evening. All are welcome, including your children!
Saturday, June 28
8:00 am – 11:00 pm Convention – Day 2
A full day of presentations, dialogue, sharing, liturgy, food and fun! There will be two presentations in the morning, followed by lunch, and one presentation in the afternoon. Each presentation will be followed by a dialogue and a small group sharing. There will be separate presentations for Spanish-speaking couples, priests and religious. Simultaneous translations of all English presentations into Korean will be available. The Children’s Programs will take place upstairs and will last until the end of the final afternoon presentation (the children will be served lunch separately upstairs). After the afternoon presentation and Children’s Programs, we will all come together for Mass, followed by a buffet dinner.
After dinner, the fun begins! We have planned an exciting program of fun, memories, and entertainment, celebrating 40 years of Worldwide Marriage Encounter. Vendors will be open all day (except during the talks and Mass).
